With this being my 9th year I am often surprised at how long I have been in the portrait photography business! It seems just the other day I took the leap (with a firm nudge from my husband, Mark) and opened Lynne Medsker Photography. It has been such a pleasure meeting new people and capturing their memories! Over those nine years I have evolved from “a photographer who sometimes makes art” to “an artist who also takes portrait photos.” I hope I never stop evolving! To acknowledge this transformation my business name has changed to “Lynne Medsker Art & Photography.”
Recent re-evaluations have led me to adjust the concentration of my portrait photography. I feel that the space I have available is being under-utilized by reserving it strictly for photography. I plan to transform it into a more open, artistic space for both personal creativity and teaching. By directing my portrait sessions to local outdoor and location shoots I will be able to make this transition.
I am energized by this change and especially by the possibilities it presents for locations, variety in backgrounds and local travel. I am ready to expand, explore and re-energize my portrait work and this presents the perfect situation. There are so many local parks, gardens and attractions nearby that are just begging to be used for portrait photography! This change will require some creativity with outfit changes during photo shoots (think layers, jackets, hats and accessories!) but you won’t be disappointed by the end results. As always attention to detail and personal service for each of my clients will be my top priority.
